A Twitter chat is like a meeting on Twitter; it has a specific discussion topic and a scheduled start time. Using the hashtag #MilCents at the end of each tweet, MFAN will ask questions to a group of financial experts.
Hana is a Marine Corps veteran and Marine Corps spouse. She served 10 years active duty in the Marine Corps as an aviation ordnance technician. She served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and was part of the Unit Deployment Program to Iwakuni, Japan. She also served as a Marine Corps recruiter and was named Recruiting Station Orange’s “Rookie Recruiter of the Year” in 2009.
After being honorably discharged in 2012, she attended Texas A&M University and received her Bachelor of Science in University Studies – Leadership with a double minor in psychology and sociology. During her time at Texas A&M, she discovered a passion for teen pregnancy awareness and prevention. She interned and volunteered her time in the local community’s teen pregnancy outreach center where she mentored and educated local teens dealing with unplanned pregnancies. She was also a member of Texas A&M’s Student Veterans Association. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was a recipient of the Henry Ross Scholastic Achievement Award for graduating with the highest-grade point average in her major.
Hana and her husband, Nick, have been married for 11 years and have 2 children together. Since getting out of the Marine Corps, Hana has been a proud Marine spouse and support system for her husband as he continues to serve. They have lived in 4 states, and moved 6 times during their marriage so far. Hana and Nick currently reside in Yuma, Arizona with their daughter, Dannika and their son, Mattis.
