A Twitter chat is like a meeting on Twitter; it has a specific discussion topic and a scheduled start time. Using the hashtag #MilCents at the end of each tweet, MFAN will ask questions to a group of financial experts.
Angela Caban is an Army National Guard spouse, founder of the Homefront United Network, and a passionate writer. She currently lives in New Jersey.
Angela founded the Homefront United Network in 2010 to bring together those military families who do not live within an established military community; since then, she has expanded the organization’s mission to serve all types of military families. To further expand the reach of the Homefront United Network, Angela developed a program called SpouseTalks, which transcends branch and rank to make today’s military spouses aware of tools they can use to stay strong.
Angela has also worked with organizations such as Operation Homefront to ensure that military families are aware of each other and that all branches and ranks are getting the support they need.
For the past seven years, Angela has written in a freelance capacity about issues specific to National Guard and Reserve families. Her work has been published in multiple online and print publications, including Military Spouse magazine, USAA, Powerhouse Planning, and MilitaryOneClick. Angela has also contributed as an author to two books that have received multiple prestigious awards: “Faith Deployed…Again” and “Stories Around the Table.”
Angela has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in human resources. For the past two years, she has been a community manager for the USAA Member Community, which provides military families with resources and ways to engage with each other. And last November, she was elected to the Board of Education for Milford Public Schools in New Jersey.
