Meet Our Alumnus

Kim Robertson

Kim Robertson is an Air Force spouse and returning member of MFAN’s Advisory Board for the 2017–2019 term. She is also the founder of 1200 Miles Away, a blog she started when her husband received orders to go to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

Kim is a senior marketing professional for a global engineering company that focuses on hydropower and dams design engineering. In addition, she serves as a founding member of the board of directors for the Society for Military Spouses in STEM, an organization that helps spouses overcome the challenges of maintaining a career with the military lifestyle.

Kim’s military advocacy extends to NextGen MilSpouse and the National Military Family Association through her work as a contributor. She also serves as a Scout for MILLIE, a startup focused on easing the stress of PCS’ing on military families. And in 2017, Kim received the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year award for Vandenberg AFB.

Kim is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in marketing at the University of Maryland. She is also the former president of the Colorado Chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.
