We're Hiring!

The Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) a national nonprofit that serves military and veteran families, is seeking a full-time junior data analyst to assist with qualitative research focused on military families, service members, and veterans. This position is a remote opportunity reporting to the senior director of research and program evaluation.

About MFAN Research:

All of our efforts are grounded in research. We convene leaders and influencers in the military community to help us understand what military families need most urgently, to assist us in making families aware of the resources that are already out there, and to support us in delivering solutions when there are resource gaps.

We conduct national research to evaluate the effects of military service on family life. We are also agile – we field studies quickly when we need answers. Recent work evaluated military families’ experiences living in privatized military housing, a study that was cited repeatedly by members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. We have been invited to present our findings at the White House, the Pentagon, and on Capitol Hill.

We are looking for a candidate with previous professional experience analyzing qualitative data and presenting findings in written reports. Ideally, this is also someone who is a detail-oriented self-starter who excels at time management and doesn’t miss a deadline. This candidate should be equally comfortable working independently or with a team in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Code, analyze, and evaluate qualitative data in large textual data sets
  • Associate and analyze quantitative data with qualitative data sets
  • Use Qualtrics software in analysis and reporting
  • Produce reports and clearly communicate research findings

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous experience with coding qualitative data, analyzing textual data sets, and communicating key themes in an educational or professional setting
  • A passion for understanding and supporting military families
  • Ability to perform in a corporate, entrepreneurial environment and acclimate to the “MFAN way”
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set and meet deadlines

This is a full-time, remote opportunity.  Candidates are expected to have a dedicated workspace where they work during MFAN business hours. If you are ready to hit the ground running, want to contribute to a meaningful mission, and thrive in an exciting, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.  MFAN is an equal opportunity employer.

Please send your cover letter, resume, writing sample of previous research work, and salary requirements to hr@militaryfamilyadvisorynetwork.org by April 9, 2021, for consideration.
