The Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) seeks a digital communications specialist to join our team.  A successful candidate will implement all strategic online initiatives for the organization, this includes but is not limited to the website (content and updates), social media, digital advertising, and email marketing.

This position will actualize strategic directives from the communications manager. A successful candidate will monitor and analyze metrics to optimize efforts and campaigns and for the benefit of the organization.

We’re looking for someone with a strong ability to multi-task and experience in creating and executing integrated campaigns. Equally important, MFAN is looking for a polished, professional, and outcomes-oriented individual who is ready to join a high-performing team.

 Under the supervision of the Communications Manager:

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar for MFAN’s social properties, using the social media scheduling application.
  • Direct creation of graphics needed for social and web.
  • Execution of national digital programs and campaigns, including online advertising, web site strategy and design, social media, mobile, and deliverables.
  • Manage and moderate all social media properties and develop a plan to increase MFAN’s followers.
  • Social monitoring and listening; stimulate dialogue and communication with all audiences.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (e.g. research and development) to monitor strategic communications initiatives.
  • Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of digital campaigns
  • Work with MFAN’s content developer to write, proofread, and edit creative and technical content across social media mediums.
  • Identify and evaluate new digital technologies and use web analytics tools to measure site traffic to better optimize marketing campaigns, email marketing, social media, and display and search advertising.
  • Work closely with the management team to portray MFAN’s image and values through digital communications channels.
  • Improve brand recognition and trust online.

Requirements

  • 3 years of progressive experience in digital communications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • Superior quality control and attention to detail.
  • Excellent grasp of social media and website metrics and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of various marketing and web analytics tools, including Constant Contact, Google Analytics, Sprout Social.
  • Ability to write and present content that appeals to multiple audiences including military families, stakeholders, funders, media, and more.
  • Demonstrated experience with WordPress and HTML.
  • Demonstrated success in digital marketing and advertising.
  • Experience developing, implementing, managing, and optimizing across all communications channels.
  • Experience with online ads, including social, google ads, and more.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Experience with website and SEO performance measurement tools, and WordPress.
  • Ability to create and optimize graphics for social preferred.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred.

This is a remote full-time position.  Occasional after-hours/weekend work should be expected.

The Military Family Advisory Network (MFAN) is seeking a data analyst to join our Research and Program Evaluation team.  This position will analyze qualitative and quantitative research focused on military families, service members, and veterans. This is a full-time, remote employee position.  

 All of our efforts are grounded in research. We convene leaders and influencers in the military community to help us understand what military families need now, assist us in making families aware of the resources that are already out there, and support us in delivering solutions when there are gaps in support.  

 We conduct national research to evaluate the effects of military service on family life. We are also agile – we field studies quickly when we need answers. Recent work evaluated military families’ experiences living in privatized military housing, a study that was cited repeatedly by members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. We have been invited to present our findings at the White House, the Pentagon, and on Capitol Hill.  

 We are looking for a candidate who is detail-oriented and doesn’t miss a deadline. Someone who thinks criticallyis a self-starter, excels at time management, and is equally comfortable working independently or with a team.  

 Candidates must have previous work experience analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data sets and presenting findings in written reports.  

Equally important, MFAN is looking for a strategic, polished, professional, and outcomes-oriented individual who is ready to join a high-performing team.  

 Responsibilities: 

  • Primary responsibility: qualitative data analysis of large textual data sets across several projects 
  • The ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data in real-time and longitudinally 
  • Use Qualtrics software in analysis and reporting 
  • Produce reports describing research findings, including data visualization

 Requirements: 

  • A minimum of three years of professional research experience with experience in both qualitative and quantitative analysis in a professional setting 
  • Master’s degree 
  • A passion for understanding and supporting military families 
  • Highly organized critical thinker with superior attention to detail  
  • Ability to communicate data findings accurately, clearly, and concisely in writing
