Daniel Thode

As the managing director of Military Health for Cerner Government Services, Daniel focuses on all aspects of business development, delivery, and client relationships for Cerner’s military health business.

Daniel has responsibility for the DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) program, which includes the Defense Department’s health record, MHS GENESIS, and the U.S. Coast Guard health record modernization.

He leads Cerner’s growth strategy and positioning in the company as a trusted advisor across the military health and Defense Department space. He positively impacts the business with his ability to establish lasting relationships and deliver value for Cerner clients. He also leverages his legal background to apply a creative approach to logical problem solving.

Leadership Experience: Since joining Cerner in 2013, Daniel successfully led several significant client engagements including the initial deployment for the DHMSM program and was the key architect behind the planned optimization period that followed.

Before transitioning into the federal space, Daniel consulted on some of Cerner’s most pivotal integrated delivery networks, academic institutions and holding companies on workforce management, and ambulatory systems and workflow integration.

Accomplishments: Under his leadership, Daniel strategized and deployed methodologies to improve and execute of the DHMSM program rollout in recent waves. He continues to oversee the client, partnership relations, and the delivery team working on the DHMSM, eHRa and APLIS programs. Daniel is also accountable for relationships and new opportunities within the military health space.

Daniel has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
