A former Army spouse and Navy veteran, Andy Belvins is the legal and policy manager at OutServe-Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.

After being honorably discharged in 2010, he enrolled at the University of Colorado, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English and urban education and a postgraduate certificate in nonprofit administration. Andy is currently pursuing his J.D., with emphases in military, veteran, and civil rights law, and his MBA, with emphases in entrepreneurship and nonprofit administration, at Willamette University.

Before joining OutServe-SLDN, Andy worked on then-first lady Michelle Obama’s scheduling and advance team at the White House. He has worked with the Oregon Department of Justice, the American Military Partner Association, and the Military Partners and Families Coalition, and volunteered with DeMolay International, One Colorado, and the Special Olympics.

Andy and his spouse live in Salem, Oregon, with their dog, Sir Reginald, the Earl of Puppydom. In their free time, they like to paint and cook delicious vegan food.
